Orange Counties best climbing gym with 12,000 square feet of sculpted climbing terrain. Topropes with lots of varying angles, a large lead area with an arch, and 1/3 of the gym dedicated to bouldering. Costa Mesa Rockreation has a separate workout area with machines, traditional weights, and cardio equipment. Our friendly staff provide a fun environment, and our setters work hard to create a range of interesting climbs for the beginner, or the expert, and those who fall in between.
Indoor rock climbing has been a fast growing sport for the last decade and is here to stay. It is a great way to train for outdoor climbing, or to get a great workout doing something fun.
BOULDERING – Bouldering is a style of rock climbing undertaken without a rope and normally limited to very short climbs over a crash pad so that a fall will not result in serious injury. It is typically practiced on large natural boulders or artificial boulders in gyms and outdoor urban areas.

TOP ROPE - Top-rope climbing (or Top-roping) is a style in climbing in which a rope, used for the climber’s safety, runs from a belayer at the foot of a route through one or more carabiners connected to an anchor system at the top of the route and back down to the climber, usually attaching to the climber.

LEAD CLIMBING- Lead climbing is a climbing technique used to ascend a route. This technique is predominantly used in rock climbing and involves a lead climber attaching themselves to a length of dynamic (elastic) climbing rope and ascending a route whilst periodically attaching protection to the face of the route and “clipping in” to it.
