Want a place to boulder while visiting sunny Las Vegas?
“Opening mid October, the Refuge climbing & fitness will bring a modern bouldering gym to Las Vegas. The gym, which is currently finishing construction, is an 11,300 sq ft facility that features really innovative walls that were designed and built by Louie Anderson. The showpiece wall features a huge 14 foot roof that tops out at 15 feet off the pads. More pictures can be found at www.climbrefuge.com or by visiting Refuge climbing center on Facebook.
In addition to tons of great climbing, there will be a fitness area complete with cardio equipment and weights, as well as a climbing training area featuring a Moon board/woodie wall, campus board/pegboard, poutre beam, and pull up rack with rings and TRX.
Add on to all that some quality landing pads and plenty of open space to hang out in while not climbing, the Refuge will be a really great climbing gym.
The new gym is owned by Jeff Clapp, former owner of all the Rockreation facilities.
Current Rockreation members climb for free at the Refuge (dual membership status).
So next time you’re in Vegas, take a break from your business or debauchery and check out one of the nation’s best new bouldering gyms!”
